This last Friday I received the Whatcom County Association Realtor of the Year award.
I grew up in Real Estate, and I have been doing this full-time for 20 years (my entire adult life)! So this has really been my life -is this business!
The Realtor association is a very important organization for the community and for the Real Estate broker community. Being a Realtor holds you to a higher ethical standard then just being a Real Estate broker. And the Realtor association also advocates for property rights and affordable ownership, at a local, state and federal level.
As a member of the board of directors and as the director of the communications committee for the Whatcom County association of Realtors, I have been very involved over the last few years supporting the organization. I am involved to give back to the industry, serve the community, and help raise the bar for our profession.
So at the 2022 awards banquet last weekend…. being in a room of brokers I respect and affiliates of the business that I have worked with forever… plus having the added support of many in my broker family at John L Scott Real Estate joining me (along with my wife Andrea), it was a very special night to receive this honor.
