With the market getting hot, the demand for new construction in Bellingham has increased dramatically, yet the options have been very limited. There is currently only 21 new construction homes listed on the MLS (not pending) in Bellingham, and only 10 of those are under $500,000. Still there is pre-sales being reserved in a few developments still.

Spring Vista Green Townhomes
The townhomes in the Cordata neighborhood are being designed with green features; including solar panels, energy efficient lighting & more. There is also a community garden. These have been starting in the $290k range, and are currently sold out. But they are taking reservations for the a few remaining lots still.

West Cordata Development, Single Family Homes from $250k-$320k

This development, located off W. Kellogg rd in the Cordata neighborhood, has also pre-sold all of the constructed homes, and Phase 1 was completed & established in last 2 years. But phase 2 has at least 4 more lots available right now. Then there will be a Phase 3 this year as well..The floor plans range from 2 bedrooms with 1 car garages in the $270k range, to 3 bed 2.5 bath, 2 car garage homes for $300k and up. The floor plans for each lot are set in stone in phase 2, but these homes are very customize-able as far as finishes go. This development is the largest one currently under construction in the most affordable price range in Bellingham.

Harman Way Development (off of Bakerview rd), starting in the $330’s
These homes are primarily 2,000 sq ft or bigger, with some upgraded finishes like granite throughout and hardwood floors. The developer is not currently taking reservations on the vacant lots, but does have 10 lots still available that are being built soon.

Sussex drive homes (near bottom of Barkley Hill) starting in the $530’s

Located near the bottom of Barkley Hill (walking distance to Barkley Villages) new homes are still being built on Sussex Dr. These homes are priced starting in the $540k to $600k range. These are modern homes with 2 story’s, plus a daylight basement, 2,500 sq ft & up. They are currently all pending, but more are being built and available for pre-sale

The Highlands, starting in the $450’s

The Highlands is a development by Skeers construction in the Puget neighborhood, which has been in development for 3+ years now, still with more homes being built. The neighborhood is in a desirable location, near town and Whatcom Falls & trail system, & Galbraith Mountain. Nice territorial & mountain views from many of the home sites. High quality finishes through out on these homes. Prices starting in the $450k range for a 1,500-1,700 sq ft home. But to get a home like you see in the picture above with over 2,000 sq ft & a 3 car garage, prices start in the mid $500’s.

This is a similar development, also off Lakeway, also being developed by Skeers construction. This is also finished with first phase, but dozens of homes are yet to be developed still and available for pre-sale. Hanna Creek is also off Lakeway in same Puget neighborhood, also close to Whatcom Falls, Galbraith Mountain & trail system, with similar territorial views from most of the home sit. Homes start in the mid $450’s and up.
